Clinical Psychologist

I have a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Oxford, and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Nottingham. I also have postgraduate certificates in Leadership and Supervision from the University of Reading. I am registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I am also an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with the British Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapies (BABCP).

I worked for many years in specialist mental health services in the NHS, working with a broad range of difficulties, including children with neurodevelopmental difficulties such as autistic spectrum disorder. I then became the clinical lead for a county wide specialist CBT service for young people with anxiety difficulties, PTSD and/or obsessional compulsive disorder. Currently as well as offering a private psychology clinic, I am a visiting lecturer at the Charlie Waller Institute, University of Reading, delivering postgraduate training in evidence based psychological treatment. I also offer supervision to other mental health professionals.

My specialist interest is in OCD, and anxiety disorders and the application of evidence-based therapies such as CBT. Alongside this I am experienced in working with a wide variety of difficulties using a range of different approaches. I have experience of working with young people with autistic spectrum disorder, and have had additional training in diagnosis.

More than any training course, I have learnt most from the many young people and families I have been privileged to work with over the years. They have taught me that young people are capable of great insight into the challenges that life can throw at us, and that we are all much more resilient than perhaps we know.
